A message from the founders

We have always believed that living a good life should not be expensive, that going out and doing something with your family should be readily available and cheap, if not free. The Los Angeles and Orange County areas offer so many wonderful free and inexpensive activies for families, but sometimes it can be hard to find them. There are many, many booklets, web sites and pamphlets that will tell you about going to Disneyland or enrolling in an art or dance class. Those are great things to do every once in a while, but in day to day life, finding activities that don't cost the family a lot of money is very important.

We started this web site to make these activities easy to find. Every activity that is listed on this web site can be done for a family of four (2 adults and 2 children) for $20 or less. A good fraction of the activities we list can be done for free. In some cases, certain activities are only free on certain days (i.e. the Long Beach Art Museum is free every Friday). We list those things, too, so that everyone can enjoy cultural events that might be financially out of reach for some.
